President Barack Obama has appeared on comedy website ‘Funny or Die’ to plug the Affordable Care Act.
The video series ‘Between Two Ferns’ has a huge online following. It features comedian Zach Galifianakis in mock sit-down interviews with big name personalities including Bruce Willis, Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Justin Bieber and now President Obama.
“Sorry I had to cancel a few times,” said Galifianakis in the opening sequence to a straight-faced Obama. “My mousepad broke last week and I had to get my great-aunt some diabetes shoes.”
To which Obama replied: “It’s no problem. I have to say, when I heard that people actually watch this show, I was actually pretty surprised.”
After a few light gags, Galifianakis moved onto the hard-hitting topic of international diplomacy, questioning the President’s decision to send “Ambassador Rodman to North Korea.”
“He’s not our ambassador,” Obama dead-panned.
Galifianakis also asked Obama about whether he had plans to build a presidential library in his “home country of Kenya”.
Jokes aside, Obama heavily plugged HealthCare.gov and urged viewers to get on the website.
“I think it’s fair to say that I wouldn’t be with you if I didn’t have something to plug. Have you heard of the Affordable Care Act?”
And apparently, the plug worked. According to White House Senior Communications Advisor Tara McGuiness, FunnyOrDie广西桑拿, was the number one source of referrals to HealthCare.gov
